Starting over.

This is not a post I aspired to write, so I'm going to keep it as simple as I can.
I've not posted for quite a long time as I've had a really hard few months. Whilst it would take a very long time (and probably a lot of tears) for me to write about, what I can say is that there are a lot of things that have changed, and hopefully its for the best.
I didn't plan for my blogging break to take as long as it has done, and my blog is definitely something I want to continue to grow, once I feel in a better space. Right now I think I probably need to just take a teeny weeny bit longer to create that for myself.
It may seem obvious, but what i've realised, through this period of darkness is the unpredictable-ness of life. A few months ago, I would have never imagined my life being the way it is. This brings me a lot of sadness, but also hope that things may change for the better within a flash of time too.
I know this is probably not making much sense to you all right now, but what i'm trying to say to myself is this.

1. I've not abandoned my blog! I plan to use this space of the internet I own to document my journey 'finding myself'. I hope I can look back on this post in a years time and cry happy tears for making that leap.
2. Don't take anything for granted, show someone you love them before it's too late.
3. Expect nothing. Nothing turns out the way you plan it. Sometimes it's better just to allow things to be.
4. Although it's hard, sometimes things happen for a reason. Whilst you might not be able to see that reason right now, eventually there becomes a time when things start to make sense. There's a reason behind everything. Dont blame yourself.
5. Things don't always work out, and that's ok. People change. Aspirations change. Feelings change, and change isn't always a bad thing.

I hope this makes some sort of sense to you (and me when I come to read it)
I look forward to posting soon,
Jessica x

My favourite nude/bronze palettes.

When it comes to spring and summer, I love sporting a fresh faced, simple make-up look. It's no secret that eye make-up isn't really my forte, but after trying and testing a few over the last month, I have picked out my favourites at the moment. These nude/bronze palettes vary from drugstore to higher end, but are all really versatile and equally as pretty!

Mac Showstopper Quad: (From top left) Oh my darling, Jest, Mineralism, Showstopper.
This quad contains really wearable neutral colours, with a peachy pink shadow to mix up the traditional nude quad a little. The bad news: This palette was limited edition and is now no longer available, however can be found in some outlet stores.

MUA- Undress Me Too.
This 12 shade palette mixes neutural shadows with gold/bronze metallics. This is a perfect beginners palette due to the price (£4!) and range of colours which are great to experiment with. My favourite and most used shadow are Reveal and Wink (3 & 4, bottom row). The only downfall to these shadows is they aren't as long lasting as some of the others, but still very pretty all the same.

Urban Decay Naked 3.
I only actually bought this palette last week (I know, I must be the last person to the party) and I LOVE it. The colours are more pink toned nudes but equally as pretty and very pigmented. This is a little more on the pricey side (£38) but i'd definitely say it's worth the investment. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention there is practically a rose gold eye-shadow (Trick). A ROSE GOLD EYESHADOW (*love heart eyes emoji*)

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette in Nude Bronze
This palette comes with 6 metallic bronze/ brown shadows. The colour payoff is great for a drugstore palette (I'd say some of the swatches were equally as pigmented as the Naked 3) and has both daytime and evening colours. They are compact enough to take in your handbag, and the best part is they only cost £3.99.

And they are my shadow favourites at the moment! What spring/summer palettes do you recommend?

Unglamourous essentials: Getting back the 'spring' in your step!

With Spring and Summer approaching, the open toe sandals are making a reappearance, meaning unfortunately, we can't hide our feet under fluffy socks and welly boots for much longer. Eesk!
We can all surrender to putting our pedicures on the backburner for the winter, and so, in search of bringing a new lease of life to my concealed feet, I decided to purchase some new stuff! (There's always an excuse, I swear). Here are my favourites of the bunch...

LUSH Sugar Scrub

I was bought this sugar scrub stone as a gift, it's designed to be an all over body scrub, but I found it really abrasive on my sensitive skin, so decided to use it on my feet instead. This smells really good and is great as a more luxurious pumice stone. Plus, it's a great price too (£2.95?) and you can get multiple uses from it. My only negative is it takes a while to dry out when used with water, and can get really sticky, so make sure you hold onto the packaging to pop it back into!

Soap and Glory: Heel Genius
This is a great, lightweight but moisturising foot cream which smells really fresh and minty. I'm not too sure of the price as again, I was bought this as a gift but the Soap and Glory range generally isn't too pricey and can be picked up in UK drugstores. I also love the packaging of S&G stuff, but i'm sure i've already mentioned that.

LUSH: T for Toes
I picked this up in LUSH just the other day, as I'd mistakenly put on a pair of summery dolly shoes which smelt a bit foisty. The lovely assistant at LUSH told me it works wonders if you dust your feet with it before wearing open shoes, or alternatively, sprinkle it into your shoes. I haven't tried this out properly but of course I've had a smell and it's a very citrus, almost overpowering scent. This doesn't put me off, however, because a little probably goes a long way. Plus, I could think of worse things than having citrus smelling feet.

Barry M: Speedy quick dry varnishes

Above all, I generally think feet look 100% better with a nice nail varnish. I picked these up in Superdrug as I was looking for spring colours and these caught my eye. I'm literally the most impatient person in the world when it comes to painting my nails, so of course it was a total bonus they happened to be fast drying ones! I picked up the colours Full Throttle and Eat My Dust as they were the ones that most caught my attention, but they were loads of other pretty nude and pastel colours too. Again, Barry M is generally affordable brand, but I can't actually remember how much these were (Oops).

What are your favourite products to keep your feet sweet?
Love,
Jessica

January favourites

I knew January would be a good month for beauty favourites as my lovely family and friends spoiled me rotten with a ton of beauty goodies for Christmas. I've therefore been trying out products here and there when i've had the chance. These are the products i've been doting on throughout this month, some of them i've mentioned in previous blog posts, but I just can't help but love them! (Sorry not sorry!)
I've never actually owned a 'proper' watch before. My boyfriend got me this gorgeous Rose Gold number from DKNY this year for Christmas. I love it so much as it just goes with everything.

My MAC 129 brush has been my favourite brush ever since I bought it, but this month i've been using it more for warm toned blushers like this  MAC Warm Soul mineralize blush. I've also been loving my Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush for blending concealer, which I find much better than using my fingers.

These two products I would deem 'classics' of my make-up collection. I've been wearing less make-up in the winter for a 'fresh faced' look and these two products are perfect for achieving that.I love Maybelline Great Lash for separated, full lashes, and it's super inexpensive too. I think I can officially say I love my Bourjois Healthy Mix as much as, if not more than my MAC studio fix. I have quite good skin, so the coverage is perfect for all occasions, nights out, everyday wear, work etc etc. It also leaves my skin hydrated and lasts quite a long time, I think this product would be my 'desert island' make-up product. I love it.

I also got two EOS lipbalms for Christmas and rediscovered my love for them. I'm always looking around for new lipbalms as my lips always seemed to be dry, but these are up there with my favourite ones. Plus, the packaging is cute and they smell amazing. Win win.

I've been loving Soap & Glory showers this month as all their products smell amazing and make your skin super soft too. I'm sometimes a really rubbish woman when it comes to mositurising, I hate it. The Butter Yourself moisture lotion is so quick absorbing you barely even have to think about it, and I've noticed my skin is a lot softer too. Also, these bottles are pretty big and therefore they're probably going to last a while, so well worth the money.

And that's it for my beauty favourites of January! What have you been loving this month?

My goals for 2015!

Happy new year everybody! I'm a bit late to the 'reflecting on 2014' party, but that's ok. 2014 had some good moments but i'm definitely looking forward to a new year.
I haven't posted for quite a long time, as, like most people, Christmas has been insanely busy for me! I work in an industry that thrives on the Christmas period, but unfortunately for me it's meant long, tiring days and a lack of sleep, so i'm just in the process of recharging my batteries! I did however, have an amazing Christmas with all all of my family and friends, although i've definitely got a few pounds to shed now!
I thought I'd quickly share with you some of the things I would like to achieve in 2015, as although I don't strictly believe in 'resolutions', I do like having something to aim for. So first and foremost....

1.Build my blog
Back in September, I created this blog as it's something i've wanted to do as a means of expressing myself for years! I have loved reading blogs for so long and I'm so happy I finally pushed myself to create one! Although the physical creation of 'Jembubble' is done, this year I really want to make my blog my own. I want this space to be a real reflection of my personality, and for people to enjoy reading it. I would also love to go to a blogger meetup at some point.

2. Get healthy
I must have vowed to 'lose weight' at least three years in a row, so this year i'm not going to tell myself there has to be a certain number on the scales or in the tags of my clothes. I don't eat regularly, and the things I eat aren't great for me. I don't excercise enough and my sleeping pattern is terrible. The list could go on. This year, I want to feel healthy physically, mentally and emotionally. I want to eat healthily but give myself 'days off'. I want to exercise regular, but not punish myself for eating a choccie bar! It's all about moderation.

3. Have a positive mental attitude
More often than not, I tend to see the negative side to things rather than the positive. This is partly due to my anxiety, however I've noticed that people who are generally positive always tend to come across and happier people. I want to try to see more 'good in the bad', and 'silver linings' of things, as I think this will help me to be a better person in general!

4. Stop worrying so much!
I'm also a massive worrier, which also can spoil good and happy times for no actual reason! Again, this isn't helped by my anxiety but I do tend to over-think things and therefore spend a lot more time worrying than I should. This year i'm going to try and 'chill out' a bit more!

5. Be more organised
I am a clutter brain. I rely solely on my memory (sometimes my phone) to remember important events and times, which ends in me sometimes forgetting what the heck i'm doing. As pictured above, I have been and bought some very pretty notepads and organisers to help aid me in becoming more organised! I'm quite sure this will help me with my other resolutions too! (I mean, have you ever seen an organised person worry about what time their dental appointment is? Nope!)

6. Be happy, and spend more time with loved ones
I want to make sure that I'm happy with the choices I make this year, as I can be a very easily persuaded person, yet the choices I make don't always make me happy. This is usually with the most simplest things. Alongside that, I also want to spend more time with my family and friends, especially those who I don't see that much, as they always put a smile on my face!

What are your goals for 2015?

LIEBSTER AWARD

So, i've now been nominated 3 times to take part in the Leibster Award. I am so super grateful for this, as I only started out blogging just over a month ago, and never expected in a million years that you lovely lot would actually want to read my content, and want to know even more about me!
I personally love reading these posts and I love getting to know more about the person behind the blog. I've had a bit of a 'down' week this week, hence not posting, so I thought this might tide you over. (I'm sorry for being a bad blogger).
I was nominated by the gorgeous Waffling Waffles who's blog i've been loving and Dana who posts some amazing make-up looks and other stuff too! Click their names to check out their blogs (I dare you!).
So, the rules of the Leibster award are...

1) Acknowledge the blog who nominated you and display the award
2) Answer the 11 questions given to you from the blogger
3) Give 11 facts about yourself
4) Nominate 11 blogs you think are deserving of the award (less than 200 followers)
5) Let the bloggers know you have nominated them
6) Give 11 questions to them to answer

However, i'ma rule breaker as I was nominated by two different bloggers therefore am going to answer 22 questions. (I applaud you if you get to the end of them!). Sorry!

First the questions from http://wafflingwaffles.blogspot.co.uk/...

My Questions:
1) What's your favourite month and why? My favourite month is December. I love the Christmas season and snuggly winter nights in are the best.
2) Sunset or sunrise? Sunrise, although i'm not much of a morning person.
3) What is the item to your left? A Mcdonalds bag (oops) and my mobile phone.
4) Is there anything on your wrist right now? If so, what is it? Nope, nothing on my wrist.
5) What is your favourite colour? Dark purple, or mint green.
6) What country do you live in? In the UK, Yorkshire.
7) If you could only use one product for the rest of your life, what would it be? Toothpaste or shampoo. Probably toothpaste
8) Instagram or Twitter? I don't really use either very much, but if I had to delete one, I'd delete Twitter.
9) What is your favourite thing about Autumn?  Eek! I love so many things about Autumn, but it has to be the colours.
10) What was the last thing you ate? A McDonalds. (hangs head in shame)
11) If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be? I think I'd be in Disneyland, US.

1. Why did you start your blog? I started my blog to kind of 'document' the things that make me happy. And to boost my confidence in general.
2. What is your favorite donut to order at Dunkin' Donuts? I'VE NEVER BEEN TO DUNKIN' DONUTS! I reallly wish I had, but, we don't have any here in the UK  (or to my knowledge we don't)
3. What is your favorite Disney movie? Beauty and the Beast.
4. When you get a manicure, what color do you usually gravitate towards? I really don't have a staple colour, it totally depends on what i'm doing, or where I'm going, and what time of year it is.
5. What one piece of clothing or shoe can you not live with out? My fluffy fur cardigan thingy from New Look, I can't really describe it, but it's super warm and cosey and I don't see myself taking it off much this winter.
6. Do you have any pets? I have a dog called Lilly, and a rabbit called Snuffles.
7. If you had to chose one store to shop for makeup would it be Ulta or Sephora? Again, i've never been to either!
8. What place do you want to travel to that you have not been before? America, New York or LA to be precise.
9. For take-out dinner..would you rather have Chinese Food or Pizza? 90% pizza.
10. What brand of Mascara do you use? I vary my make-up all the time. At the moment I'm using the WONDERFULL mascara, but i'm yet to find anything better than Benefit's 'They're real'.
11. What color clothing do you think makes you look and feel the best? Urm, black (boring). I feel it makes me look slimmer.

Random facts about myself...
1. I was literally obsessed with marshmallows for about a year. It got to the point where I was eating marshmallow fluff, from the tub, in my science class!
2. I'm allergic to quite a few things, including most dressing gowns, which make me sneeze uncontrollably.
3. I've always wanted a Pygmy Hedgehog as a pet. I just think they are soo adorable!
4. I didn't buy my first MAC product until earlier this year! Needless to say i'm a MAC addict now.
5. I'm one of 5, and I have 3 sisters and a brother
6. My favourite shop at the moment has to be LUSH. I can't go in without buying something, it's a serious addiction
7. I love cinnamon, pumkin spice and gingerbread lattes. I drink far too much coffee in the winter months.
8.I don't really watch TV, or even films. I'm very used to hearing, "Whaaat, you've never seen *insert well known film here*?"
9. I'm literally the worst at keeping secrets, I usually end up giving so many 'hints' to people about their Christmas presents, they've usually guessed them before they've got them!
10. I started university, and 'dropped out' after a year. There were several reasons for this, but now I work full time instead.
11. I don't really like the summer! I've never been a fan of warm weather, id much prefer to be wrapped up, warm, and inside.

My questions are...
1. If you could be any animal, what would you be, and why?
2. What makeup product could you not live without?
3. You head out for tea, where do you go?
4. Who is your favourite blogger?
5. Are you allergic to anything?
6. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
7. What are your 3 Lazy Day essentials?
8. Do you have any phobias?
9. What is your biggest regret?
10. What is your dream job?
11. Where do you see yourself in the future?

I now nominate...

Some of these bloggers are my favourites, so please do check them out. Also, i'm sorry if some of you have already been nominated!
I salute you if you've managed to read this far, and please link down your Liebster awards so I can check them out!

CURRENT AUTUMN FAVOURITES

I cannot believe how fast 2014 has gone, like, wait, it's almost November? I'm not too sorry to see this year go, as it's not been the greatest year for me (but that's another post for another time). However, I always get excited for Autumn/ Fall, as I think it's the most relaxing, cosy and colourful season to see in the end of the year. And you know what happens at the end of the year, right? IT'S CHRISTMASSSSS!
I'm loving seeing all your Autumn inspired posts, and without further ado, here are a few things that I've been loving this season...

   Candles.

I LOVE candles but I tend to stay away from them in the Summer, as I'm only keen on a handful of floral/fruity scents. I personally adore sweet/spicy scents so the seasonal Yankee Candles are right up my street. I go crazy for everything cinnamon/gingerbread/pumpkin during the Autumn/Winter (coffee especially) so it went without saying I would love this candle. I actually got bought this as a present, but you can find it here

   Lush.

From left: Candy Mountain, Santa's Lip Scrub, Sparkly Pumpkin and Wizard.

Now I know you've probably already seen more than enough Lush posts, but I couldn't surely do an Autumn favourites without giving them a mention? I adore Lush all year round but they're at their best in the Autumn and Winter. As I've quite a few summery bath bombs to use, I was going to wait to purchase their Christmas/Halloween stuff, but I've finally deemed it impossible to leave empty handed. I picked up Candy MountainWizardSparkly Pumpkin and Santa's Lip Scrub. It goes without saying that these all smell incredible and I can't wait to see what they look like in the bath.

Autumn lipsticks.

It's hard to find drugstore lipsticks in Autumn colours, in my opinion. I searched high and low to try find deep colours which aren't too 'pinky'. My favourite finds were the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Satin - New York Scene and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 477 - Black Cherry. Unfortunately my awful lighting and camera skills meant I couldn't photograph Black Cherry, which is my favourite, but this is what it looks like on...

And here's New York Scene...

Up the high end, my favourite find as of yet is MAC - Living Legend . I also love the Nightmoth Lip Liner to give it a bit more definition and depth. (WARNING: This is a pretty dark colour, darker than it appears on the swatch. I'm a pale skin tone so these colours tend to suit me, but if you don't like very deep purples, this might not be the one for you)

    Bedroom decor.

I love jazzing up my room to go with the seasons, and in the colder months I love fairy lights to give my room that cosy feel. I decided to hang little felt leaves from my lights this year, which I think look super cute, and popped this little stag head on my dresser. Both these things were really inexpensive and practically effortless!

Body.

Last but not least, I'm loving scented body butters and keeping my skin hydrated, and this Ginger Sparkle Butter by The Body Shop smells amazing!

Thank you so much for reading, and if you have a bloglovin' or blog you want me to check out please don't hesitate to leave your link below!
